Old Business:

            Recap of last months minutes

            Discussion of AHPA Jacket

            Mike Grier spoke about the Canton Air Show on April 2nd.

                        We need to set up a booth

                        Proceeds go to the Cherokee County Shelter and also to Angel Flight

            Elliot Stivers spoke about the progress of the downtown heliport.

                        They have purchased the land

                        Mayor Franklin has seen the proposal

                        Also spoke of the closing of the Capitol Helipad.

 

New Business:

            We need to increase the content on our website.  Our Site: www.atlhpa.org

Send in pictures taken during flights or that youve taken of helicopters.

                        If you know of a nice trip to make via helicopter - write it up & email it in.        

                        See South Carolina Pilots Assoc. for an example of what would be nice

Elliott Stivers mentioned that he knew someone near Lake Ocoee with plenty of

land and a 19th Century Bed and Breakfast that was interested in hosting a

fly-in in early Spring.

            PDK Good Neighbor Day has been cancelled for this year

            The New PDK Airport Security Issues

                        Now there is a magnetic card entrance to the ramp

            Helicopter frequency 1230.25 was discussed

                        This frequency is not for chatting

                        Please familiarize yourself with the Standard Reporting Locations

            Discussed changing the location of our monthly meetings for cost reasons.

                        It was mentioned that it might be nice to move the location around so that

                                    people from different locations around the city could attend.

                        It was also mentioned that this would be confusing and hard to keep track

                                    of - especially for first timers. They wouldnt know where to go.

HAI Discussion

            - Next years meeting in Dallas at the end of February

            - CFI Course at HAI

Strongly recommended for next year that instructors should attend.  Would be good to have AHPA representation there.

Elections

- Written election for president.  Candidates are James Knight and Jeff McLam

- James Knight won

Jim Vickers spoke about the R-44 now being used by the government

Jeff McLam spoke about the Canton Air Show on 4/2/05.  Its a public service air show and the proceeds

go to charity and shelters.  We are invited and it was suggested that we set up a booth.

It was mentioned by Tommy Kearns that Tara Field offers Sweat Equity.

Through the Army

Aviation Heritage Foundation you can work on aircraft and build up hours for Huey Rides.

Greg Pridgen mentioned fund raising for Angel flight. Burnadette is the contact.

                        Also mentioned Helicab.

Talked about heliport progress in city.

Sonja Salo recapped her ferry trip from LA.
